Help Haiti Earthquake Relief!

1/13/2010 10:02:00 AM Reporter: Nasty Tai Boogy 0 Responses
The following is a statement from Wyclef Jean which was posted on GlobalGrind.com in the wake of the horrible 7.0 hurricane that struck Haiti on Tuesday night:
-------
Haiti faced a natural disaster of unprecedented proportion, an earthquake unlike anything the country has ever experienced.

The magnitude 7.0 earthquake – and several very strong aftershocks – struck only 10 miles from Port-au-Prince.

I cannot stress enough what a human disaster this is, and idle hands will only make this tragedy worse. The over 2 million people in Port-au-Prince tonight face catastrophe alone. We must act now.

President Obama has already said that the U.S. stands ‘ready to assist’ the Haitian people. The U.S. Military is the only group trained and prepared to offer that assistance immediately. They must do so as soon as possible. The international community must also rise to the occasion and help the Haitian people in every way possible.”

Many people have already reached out to see what they can do right now. We are asking those interested to please do one of two things: Either you can use your cell phone to text “Yele” to 501501, which will automatically donate $5 to the Yele Haiti Earthquake Fund (it will be charged to your cell phone bill), or you can visit www.Yele.org and click on DONATE.
-Wyclef Jean

CULTURES CLOTHING MAGAZINE

Check out Cultures Clothing Magazine

Cultures Clothing Co. 101
For those of you who are new to the clothing line and the company, here's the Crash Course!

Cultures Clothing Co. was founded in the year 2000 by Alloyius McIlwaine. The line is representative of high fashion, urban wear, and everything in-between for Men, Women, and Children. Cultures Clothing Company wants to show that all nationalities, cultures, or social groups have something interesting or beautiful about them.

Your environment that you grow up in and what you have been influenced by has just as much to do with who you are as your nationality, if not more, so Cultures Clothing also wants to highlight aspects of society and social groups as well! For example, along with showing influences from different nationalities and cultures, you'll see everything from fine art & high fashion to hip-hop in the clothing as well. On the price tags for the clothing, Cultures Clothing includes little known or interesting facts about different cultures, to inform people, and to help them to understand that we are all connected. For Example:
#CulturesFacts: Did you know that the 1st novel, called "The Story of Genji" was written in 1007 by a Japanese noble woman named Murasaki Shikibu?
Along with doing pieces of clothing for mass production, many of the pieces from Cultures Clothing are hand-painted and can be customized, so that the consumer can have a one of a kind piece of art to wear!

Alloyius McIlwaine was previously featured on Under The Radar Society (click here)
